our beliefs

what Claudine's Daughter stands for, and why

Every product is made from scratch in small batches using carefully chosen ingredients selected for their flavour, not simply their convenience. Our jams are homemade, our fillings are crafted by hand, and every recipe is developed until it tells the story we want it to tell.

That same care extends beyond the food we make. From the products we use to clean our kitchen to the suppliers we choose to work with, we aim to make thoughtful decisions that are kinder to people, animals and the world around us wherever possible.

Quality
First

We believe exceptional baking begins with exceptional ingredients. Every product is made in small batches from scratch using carefully sourced ingredients chosen for their flavour, provenance and quality. From Surrey homemade jams and Scottish cultured butters to discovering a new baking skill, every element has a purpose, because great baking is built from the ground up

Community
Focused

Claudine's Daughter exists to bring people together. Whether it's sharing stories over coffee, introducing someone to a flavour from the other side of the world, or supporting local suppliers wherever possible. We believe food has the power to create connection. Every bake is made with the hope that it becomes part of someone else's favourite memory.

Heart & Soul

It's found in the details. It guides the ingredients we choose, the way we develop our recipes, and the lessons we've learned along the way. We use Miniml and Method for our cleaning products and hand-washing soap, chosen after plenty of research. When we churn our butter, we save the buttermilk for your bakes. When something is in season, we'll use it — and when it isn't, we'll wait.

We want to give you the best of what the world can give.

Jean

My grandmother Jean was both a traditional homemaker and an adventurer, travelling across Europe with her husband before returning home to bake crumbles in her (now my)  much-loved octagonal dish. Although the dish itself did not become part of my baking for my business, it truly has never seen the inside of the cupboard.

Its shape lives on in an octagonal label, found on every bun and little comfort—a quiet tribute to her spirit, her stories and the home she created.

Sophia

A deeply faithful woman, she has a quiet way of making everyone around her feel cared for, and it is no surprise that a bakery once flourished from her home in Ghana.  A cup of tea and a scone was promised to my mother in law when I spoke of dreams of opening a bakery. Her baking tins and flavours have nurtured every bake. If you ask her about my venture, she'll simply smile and tell you that it's "good handwriting." I hope you know, it is one of the highest of compliments I will ever receive.
